The revision slider is collapsed by default on the version comparison page. It can be expanded by clicking Browse history interactively.
If a user doesn't want to see the collapsed RevisionSlider bar at the top of the diff page, they can opt-out by checking Don't show the RevisionSlider in their preferences under Appearance -> Diffs.
